Swedish Cinnamon Buns
Soft and deliciously spiced buns, perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea.
In case you missed the Swedish Cinnamon Buns Day on 4 October, don’t fret! The Swedes eat these buns every day of the year, but I think it’s fantastic that they have a national day devoted to this culinary delight.
It makes me wonder … why is there not a Lamington Day? Or a Pavlova Day??
Anyway, the Swedish Cinnamon Buns are quite similar to American-style Cinnamon Rolls, except they are typically rolled into a knot shape and adorned with pearl sugar in place of a cream-cheese frosting.
They are sold everywhere throughout Sweden and are a popular option for Fika, the Swedish coffee break.
My recipe for Swedish Cinnamon Buns with step-by-step photos is on the blog.
Happy baking,
